The significance of structure has always led me toward a meditative connection with painting. It is a ritual of understanding the body and skeleton of a painting. The lines I combine have a telepathic link with one another, forming a network of interconnected fractal shapes to create a “Cuerpo esquelético” , a structural body. As they come together, they strengthen each other, creating a fortress-like structure, a realm where they exist. 

When I think about color, I think of the spirit within them. It begins in deep umbrous tones, submerged beneath consciousness, where heat and electric force lie compressed. From this depth, color slowly emerges into itself. Then it reveals its presence, carrying light from within.

My connection to textiles “ Mi conexion”  lies in their materiality and in the ritual of making, rooted in where I come from, Guatemala. I am not a weaver, yet in another sense I am. My own weaving happens through the brush and oil paint. These layers of fractal structures and tactile fields of color  create an active field of illumination.
